Myles’ birth story + what I learned from my traumatic experience
Today, I thought it would be fitting to share Myles' birth story since his birthday was this week.
It was definitely tougher than I thought it would be this far from the experience, it's been six years, but I think it's something I learned the very hard way and I hope if you're in a similar place, maybe not necessarily giving birth, but somewhere in your motherhood journey that it can be helpful for you too.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned in becoming a mother and learning this style of parenting is that our feelings are valid no matter what anyone else is going through.
Stop talking them away, burying them, and allowing gratitude for what you do have to keep you from processing those deeper feelings. It's ok to experience both gratitude and sorrow or anger at the same time. If we don't allow our brain to work through our own hurts, triggers, or traumas as a mom it is going to have a ripple effect in all areas of our lives.
